Game Report from Captain Storm - end of round 1
So it's my first year being a captain in the Womens League and I was most pleased to find out that I would be wearing black and yellow and even more excited to learn that our coach is the amazing Rob Wilson. We have had quite a good first round with a bit of everything really. A win, a draw and a loss and some learning along the way. We are now beginning to know each other by name and working on strategies that will bring out the best on the ice.
Watch out cos you might get stung!

After a bit of a slow start in the first game the second and third game showed the 2010 Bumbles will be a force to be reckoned with. Some great combinations from our experienced and younger members together showing that old heads and young legs work well together J Our newer players and our great goalie Heather are coming along fantastic and looking better every week, and great to see you girls starting to understand the positions involved in the game - great work! As always our fearless leader Rob is doing a great job and has come up with some great lines that are working well out on the ice. Cant wait for round 2, bring it on!!!

Welcome back to everyone from last year's Bumbles Team! We only have one change to this year's team, and that is welcoming back Kit Clarkson after a year off J Kit is joined by Krysti Woodyear-Smith, Caitlyn Usmar, Sarah Loveridge, Jess Grosskreutz, Cindy Irvine, Ordnella Soper, Abby Green, Julee Binns, Deb Bain, Verity Register, Storm French, Sara Leadbetter (G) and Rob Wilson (Coach).

Round 2
Game 3 - Bumbles vs Flames (3-2)
DOMINATE...enough said!
Well done Bumbles! Fantastic game, it was fast, and everyone played a great intense game. Lots of strong passing, and not only did we score 3 goals for our own team, I am pretty sure we managed to score both the goals for the other team also!
Julee kicked off the scoring by getting a goal against the Flames in the first 5 minutes! Followed by a breakaway from Krysti, straight from the centre ice face-off and into the back of the net! Abby finished the Flames off with a goal in the third! My super flash, fancy footwork managed to score us an own goal on Sara! (whoops!) Sarah and Ange proved to be a little tricky, but once we figured out their game, they resorted to seagull tactics.... Last 5 minutes of the game got a tad panicky, and a little bit more "physical" with such a close score...but we managed to keep ‘em out - great team work Bumbles!
Game 2 - Bumbles vs Geckoes (1-0)
A win!!! Finally with a sigh of relief from the girls (and in particular the coach!) I like to compare our Bumbles team to the Crusaders actually...we are very similar in that we start out the season each year a little on the shabby side, takes us a few games to get into it, find our feet, build our fitness etc...then all of a sudden....LOOK OUT! Here we come! Fabulous game on Monday night, both teams were slightly low on players due to Queens Birthday - however, when the Bumbles are lacking players we seem to perform even better! There was a lot of good passing happening - making the puck do the work to keep us from tiring too quickly, also the boards were being utilised a bit more than usual. The second period brought the only goal of the game, scored by Deb (whooohooo!) who not long after this decided that a we stint in the sin-bin was in order after all that hard work J Fantastic effort everyone, let's do it all again next week!
